Boxlo is designed with privacy as a core principle. Your data stays on your device. We do not operate servers that collect, store, or process your personal information.
All data you create in Boxlo — including photos, notes, box information, and room assignments — is stored exclusively on your device in a local database. This data is not transmitted to us or any third party, except when you explicitly use the AI analysis feature described below.
Boxlo includes an optional AI feature that analyzes your photos to identify items. When you choose to use this feature:
You can use Boxlo fully without ever using the AI feature. Photo analysis is always initiated by an explicit user action (tapping "Analyze Contents").

The only third-party service used is Google's Gemini API, and only when you explicitly request AI photo analysis. No other third-party services receive your data. Google's privacy policy governs their handling of data processed through their API.
You have complete control over your data:
Your data is protected by your device's built-in security features. We recommend using a device passcode or biometric lock to keep your information secure.
Boxlo is not intended for use by children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13 years of age.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be reflected with a new "Last updated" date at the top of this page.
